How we met

#TOHAVEANDTOHOWARD

James and Colisha’s journey began in the most unexpected place—middle school math class at Warwick Academy. She was the new girl, and James, being James, immediately thought, "Well, she’s the cutest girl I’ve ever seen!" As fate would have it, the teacher called out their names and assigned them seats right next to each other. Let’s just say James silently thanked the universe (and maybe even whispered a little “Thank you, Jesus!”) for such a perfect start.

From that moment on, the two became inseparable—but not in the conventional sense. They were each other’s biggest cheerleaders and the biggest pains in each other’s sides. They talked, flirted, teased, and tormented each other in a way that only middle school sweethearts-in-the-making can. It didn’t take long for the rest of the school to catch on, and, naturally, the teachers decided to ban them from sitting together in class. (Yes, they were that pair!)

Fast forward through years of friendship, adventures, and countless laughs, and their bond only grew stronger. Together, they’ve traveled the world, faced life’s biggest challenges hand in hand, celebrated victories, and cheered each other on through it all. From teenagers to responsible (well, mostly) adults, James and Colisha have built a partnership rooted in love, laughter, and a healthy dose of humor.

James admires Colisha for her unwavering support and the way she pushes him to be his best, even when he doubts himself. Her radiant smile and infectious laugh have always been his favorite things. And let’s be honest—he’ll tell anyone who’ll listen that she laughs at all his jokes.

For Colisha, it’s James’ easygoing nature, kindness, and ability to make anyone feel at ease that stole her heart. She’d probably agree that his good looks don’t hurt, either. (His jokes? Well, she loves those most of the time.)

After years of growing together, they’re ready to embark on this exciting new chapter. They can’t wait to celebrate this milestone with all the family and friends who’ve supported them along the way.

Here’s to love, laughter, and many more adventures to come!

She said yes in Greece!!

How She Said Yes

If you know Colisha, you know she’s basically a detective—unofficially, but still. Keeping a secret from her? Good luck. Keeping a proposal a secret? Nearly impossible.

James had to go full spy mode—sneaking off on lunch breaks, dodging friends, and even picking up the ring in a grocery store parking lot to avoid getting caught. And guess what? The moment he stepped out of his car, Colisha pulled up down the hill. If that’s not proof she’s always onto him, nothing is.

The Master Plan

James and Colisha love to travel, so he saw the perfect cover: a dreamy trip to the UK, Greece, and Spain. But this wasn’t just any baecation—this was an undercover engagement mission.

After a wedding in London (where James low-key told half the guests he was about to propose), they landed in Crete, Greece, where he had orchestrated the ultimate romantic setup—candles, petals, wine, balloons, desserts… basically, a Pinterest dream.

Upon arriving at the hotel at 1 AM, the hotel receptionist pulled James aside for a “secret discussion,” and Colisha, naturally, tried to investigate. Denied. The receptionist held firm.

The Moment

Colisha walked into the room and immediately said, "Wow, this feels like an engagement setup."

James, internally: "Welp, guess we’re doing this now."

He grabbed his phone, pretending to record the room, but secretly recording his proposal. His carefully crafted speech? Deleted by technology. So he freestyled—from the heart, straight to one knee.

Colisha’s reaction? Pure joy. Jumping, smiling, crying—YES!

And just like that, Mission: Proposal was a success.
